WALKING?

Okay.. So he is not officially walking, but we have made progress!

Burke is now pushing his toys around and walking!! WOOHOOO!!  Maybe he will be walking down the aisle in October!

We are officially plug free!!

Brian decided to go out of town last weekend (July 16) for a "guys" trip.  He headed to Richmond for video games and drinking to celebrate his 30th birthday!  so I decided it was the weekend to pull the plug (pacifier).  I have always had this fear, my child would be 6 and still have the plug, so I decided we needed to get rid of it by the 1st birthday.. Well that didn't happen.. I work WAY too much to control ANYTHING!  He was mainly using it at bed time and in the car, but I started noticing that they gave it to him at daycare when he was playing and that was driving me crazy.. so between the fact that Brian was out of town (I could control it completely), daycare wasn't exactly listening and he was past 1.. IT WAS TIME!!

It was entirely TOO easy.. Friday night he fussed for a bit while I strolled him around the pool to sleep (Member Guest weekend, so we basically lived at the pool).. (side note: Coach Beamer was walking around the pool with Sutton (his granddaughter) too and I was totally worried I was bothering them.. but he was super sweet, talking about the sleepy baby and Sutton wanted to see him,etc... GREAT MAN and football coach!).. he probably took 15 minutes to fall asleep.. He woke up about an hour later and was NOT happy.. It was a pathetic cry.. but Ashley held her ground (thank you!) and wouldn't give it to him.. That night he fell asleep in his crib, plug free no problem!! 

I knew the true test would be nap time.. If I could get him through naps we would be money.. During his AM nap he fussed maybe 20 minutes? Don't worry, I was starting to doubt myself.. Afternoon nap NOTHING!!!!!!! GREAT GREAT kid! And that's when I knew we were done.. Daycare probably hates me and occasionally he is fussy and I think.. ugg the plug.. but he's done great.. and I'm so glad I won't have to negotiate with a 3 year old...

Now bring on the potty training ;)  (I've already said, it will probably be impossible!)

Happy Birthday Brian!!

This is the month of birthdays!!  I have spent more money on gifts, parties, etc this month than ever!!  But anyway..

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY BRIAN!!!

I took today off and we had a GREAT day together!  We went to out favorite breakast spot, Lefty's this morning.. Took Burke to the toy store for some play time (bought nothing!).. got Brian a netbook with his bday money.. shopped for some other people's gifts :)  AND ended a great family day with Kabuki!!  The Olmsteads (Susan, Matt, Abbey, Natalie) and the Eschenmann's (Megan, Travis, Wyatt and Ethan) went with us.. and we all went for ice cream after... We had a GREAT GREAT GREAT evening with awesome friends!!!  Sorry no pics... forgot the camera!

Happy Birthday Burke!!!

My Baby is 1!

Burke has reached another milestone!  We celebrated his birthday a week ago!  It's so sad and exciting at the same time.  This past weekend we had a birthday party for him.  My parents and Brian's parents were able to come and celebrate!  It was so great to have so many people there.  It was a little crazy and a lot of work, but worth it!  I'm not sure I actually got to talk to anyone?

- He's weighing in at 18.5 lbs!

- Is wearing size 3 diapers and 6 months shorts and 6-12 months shirts!
- He is still a good eater, but LOVES hot dogs?!? and mac and cheese!
-Is drinking cold milk from a sippy cup now!
- Crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE!! doesn't stop moving at all!
- Can say mama and dada... uses mama especially when he wants something!  Also says bah bah now (bye bye and waves)
- Is pulling up, standing and walking when holding onto table, etc..
- Sleeps from 7:30pm till at least 6am but often 7am now!
- Is so happy most of the time!
-Still having fun at daycare!
- LOVES swinging, dancing, Ashley, playing peekaboo, swimming, Wyatt and Ethan
- Only uses his plug (pacifier) at bedtime and in the car... will take it out if you ask

Disney Day 5 - DVC MEMBERS!!

Day 5 at Disney brought great joy into my life... My parents became DVC members!  If only Brian and I were loaded, we would do it too :)  Disney Vacation Club is a time-share like thing that Disney has.. You can go all over the world with it and use "points" to stay places.. You can go ANY time you want, places, etc just cost different points.  You have a certain number of points.  Basically you could go to Disney every year for a week and not pay for a place to stay.. You can do more or less based on times, etc.. MUCH BETTER than a normal timeshare and it's in DISNEY WORLD (but I want to go to Hawaii one day!)!!  My parents have already planned to use points to go back in January.  We are tagging along to run the half marathon (did I really just say that?!?) and stay for a vacation!  I'm super excited!!!

We spent the morning of Day 5 touring and learning about DVC (we got paid $100 to go listen - totally worth it!)..  Presenting your newest DVC members:

After the morning, we headed over to Hollywood Studios for lunch and a few rides..

Burke LOVED riding forward in the car seat.. Although he may be two before he can legally do it! :)

We went to lunch at Hollywood and Vine... It's a buffet which no one really enjoyed much.. In the past when we went, we liked it a lot.. This go round it was a little to "kiddie."  Playschool Disney Characters were there and the food was only mediocre... This was Burke's first up close character siting (since Easter and we all know how that went!) and he was scared out of his mind.. This picture says it all...

We enjoyed lunch then headed to Toy Story Mania where we used our DVC VIP Fastpasses and walked right on.. It was awesome!!!

After that we headed back to the room to cool off... Brian, Burke and I had Luau reservations we couldn't miss!

For all those who remember my little 5 pounder.. This is one of the first outfits he wore.. was WAY too big on him at the time..  You will note the feet are hanging by his butt and sleeves are at his elbow.. Where did my baby go?!?
