Disney World Day 2

So I already missed a day!!  I'm not too good at this :)

Anyway, Sunday morning we woke up pretty early and met the family for breakfast in the hotel (Wildness Lodge) at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

You could order pretty much whatever you would want for breakfast.  They have an "all you care to eat" skillet, which worked great for us (especially with a baby).. It had Mickey Mouse waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage (burke's new favorite), biscuits and gravy... Since we were on the dining plan, you could get two drinks (weird i know), so I order a smoothie and bottle of water... I got the water thinking I would take it to the parks.. This is what came :)

The smoothie was yummy and the water was good, just not exactly conducive for taking to the park... :)

We then headed to Epcot, where we spent the day.. It was the last day of the International Flower and Garden Show, which none of us had ever seen, so it was pretty cool.  They had TONS of different flowers all around the world, but this was by far my favorite:

I LOVE Lion King and Brian has this thing where he lifts Burke up and sings the Circle of Life, so I thought this was fitting :)

The first thing we did when we got there, was run to Soarin' to get fast passes... If you don't know what fast passes are, they basically make it so you come back later and go to the front of the line.. SMARTEST idea ever!!  Plus, we were able to do rider swap b/c Burke wasn't big enough to ride, so when we came back, some people got to ride twice!  After getting fast passes, we made our way around the world. Actually, we only made it halfway before it was time to stop and feed Burke some lunch (and Brian).. so where did we end up? America.. seriously?!?  Burgers, chicken and fries..  After lunch, we ran back over to Soarin' to enjoy that ride.  It is one of my favorites!

After Soarin', The Seas with Nemo (a ride through the aquarium) and the Figment Ride, we headed back to the hotel for a little relaxing before dinner...

We headed over to Hollywood Studios (formerly known as MGM studios) for dinner.  It was raining when we got there, so no pictures.. We had to run to the back of the park to Mama Melrose for dinner, where we had to wait forever to get a table (even though we had reservations) and the food was definitely not as good as we remembered, but that's okay!  We then rode Tower of Terror twice (kid swap rocks!!) and headed back to the hotel for bed!

Day Two a success!  To be continued....

DISNEY WORLD!!!

So I know you have all been waiting to hear about our AMAZING trip to Disney World.. There is SO much to say.. I don't even know where to start... I think I'm going to post one day from our trip each day of the next week to give you some insight... Let me first say, we had a GREAT trip!  We are so thankful to my mom and dad for taking us and giving us such great memories!  It was overall a fun, exciting, busy and relaxing trip.. Can't wait for more trips (and now that mom and dad are DVC members, maybe we'll go even more)!!  The cast members for our trip were Grandma, Grandpa, Mom (me), Dad (Brian), Aunt Michelle, Aunt Kaitlin, and Baby (Burke)....

Friday Afternoon: We drove to Richmond to spend the night at my parents for a early morning flight to DISNEY WORLD!  We ran to Target for some last minute trip must haves (cheese puffs and batteries!) and then stopped by Chickfila for some dinner.  We then tried to get to bed early since we had to get up at 4 for the plane ride!  None of us slept well.. not sure if it was the anticipation, or just different bed, but regardless, we woke up at 4am EXHAUSTED!

EARLY morning!

Plane ride!

Saturday morning (MY BIRTHDAY!):  We woke up SUPER early and got to the airport an hour and half before our flight.. We checked bags and went to the gate.. No lie. They were already boarding!  Note to self: If flying airtran again, always arrive at least 1 hour early!  (side note: one guy told me he missed his flight from atlanta, when the plane left 20 minutes early!). Burke was a GREAT traveler.. He slept for some of the flight and played.hung out for the rest.. Not fussy at all... I did try to plan ahead by having new toys for him.

Bus to Disney World!!

We arrived in Florida at about 9am and were at the Wilderness Lodge Resort by about 10am.  Upon entering, they gave us buttons to wear advertising my birthday (How did they know?? DISNEY IS AWESOME!) and Burke's first visit.  We then headed to the Magic Kingdom (room wasn't ready yet), because I had decided ahead of time that MK HAD to be Burke's first experience at Disney :)  Unfortunately, he made it to the gates before he was out!  So his first parade he slept through..   We ate a quick lunch, then headed to Buzz Lightyear, which I did beat Brian at (its a video game ride!)!!  We headed to It's A Small World next.. Definitely not my favorite ride, but a MUST DO on your first Disney Trip.. We then bought Burke some Mickey Ears, then headed back to the room for a rest....

First trip to the pool!

When we got to the room, Burke was geared up and ready to go.. We decided to take him for his first swim!  He LOVED it!!  Which makes me sooooo happy!! :)  After we swam a little, including Brian and I going down the waterslide multiple times, we headed to the room for a nap.. Great family nap :)

On the Roof....

That night we were all headed to California Grille for dinner.  It is on top of the Contemporary (15th floor) and you are able to see everything! It's so cool and we were able to stay for fireworks on the roof.  They pipe the music from MK and you can see the fireworks perfectly.. It was great..  I have always wanted to eat there, but it is pricey, so when I found out we were on the dining plan and it was my bday, I demanded we go:)  The food was amazing and they brought out cake and sang.. Plus I got another dessert.  It was a GREAT birthday dinner!!!

My yummy peach/ice cream dessert

The cake...

And when we got back to the room, we had a package on the bed waiting for us.. A birthday gift from my parents.. DISNEY MAGIC ROCKS!! I did a little unpacking... Then we went to bed... Quite possibly the best birthday I have ever had!  :)

10 Month Pics

PICTURES!!!

I promised we would get them done and we did.. AND I got them posted!!

I got to witness him taking a big boy bath for the first time tonight.. He likes splashing A LOT!!  He took his first bath without the tub last weekend while I was working, but I hadn't seen it yet.. too cute!!

Also, tonight we witnessed Burke sit up all by himself.. He went from laying on his stomach to sitting up.. I have found him in his bed twice like this, but never actually see him do it.. It was a lot of work for the little guy!!  This afternoon he was fussing in bed during nap time and when I went upstairs to check on him, he was sitting up reading a book and fussing in between pages.. I guess he needs a new book for bed? :)

Have a GREAT week!!

Mother's Day!

The count down has begun (okay maybe is began months ago :) ).. But we leave for Disney in 3.5 days!! I'm so excited, partly b/c we're going to Disney, partly b/c it's Burke's first trip, partly because it's my birthday, but mostly because we're going on VACATION!!!  Brian and I made these totally awesome bag tags this weekend.. (he's a secret Disney lover too ;) ) Can you tell we are excited?

I had a great (1st) Mother's Day.. We went to lunch at Macado's with Matt, Susan and family.. Great time was had by all!  And Burke got to order his own meal (that's a first).. Okay well I ordered it, but he didn't have to eat off my plate.. He ate half a grilled cheese and some cheerios, lemons and cheese puffs.. He was SO into Natalie this time.. and she wanted nothing to do with him... typical woman :)  He kept leaning over trying to touch her, etc.. SO CUTE!

The love birds...

Abbey! LOVE HER! :)

The mom's and babies!!

After lunch, I took a quick nap (as did Burke) and then I had to head into work.. Great way to spend Mother's Day.. NOT!  But I came home to a clean house and target gift card.. what more could you want?!? Hope everyone had a GREAT Mother's Day!!

I PROMISE we will take 10 month pics soon.. Maybe once life slows down (September?!) :)  But I will NOT promise they will be up before we leave for Disney.. Have a GOOD WEEK!!  We'll post a BIG UPDATE on our trip when we get back!!! :)
