CVSing is an art.. and if you have NO idea what I am talking about.. you are no coupon nerd :) Over the years I have attempted CVSing but to no avail.. It is hard to keep up with all the Extra Care Bucks and how they work and how to match it up.. Well, my friend Allison has started getting good deals at CVS and so I thought I would give it another shot! and this week has rocked!!
Basically this is how it works is.. CVS will have a sale on an item.. for example this week they have sunscreen on sale.. if you buy 2 sunscreens you get $5 in ECBs (extra care bucks are basically free money to use on your NEXT purchase).. I've never been too good, b/c there is no immediate gratification... ANYWAY, the sunscreen is a good deal, b/c you basically get $5 off right?? Well they have sunscreen for $2.19 so if you buy 2 of these you actually get paid to buy them! WOHOO! It can also work, where some weeks if you buy an item for 2.99 you might get 2.99 in ECB.. so you get it free right? BUT if you have a coupon you get paid! Well, if I haven't lost you yet.. it can be a really good deal! But hard to keep up with it all.. Not all items give you ECBs.. they change from week to week.. needless to say, it can be very overwhelming, but you can get great deals.. Today I spent a total of $6 and change.. but got over $100 worth of stuff!!
ANYWAY - This brings me to my deal of the week:
You can get TWO Kodak Picture Movies for free!! It's basically a slideshow of pictures with a song.. GREAT presents (mother's day is coming up!)! They are 14.99 but buy one get one free this week... BUT Kodak has a B1G1 coupon too!! So you get both for free! If you print the coupon twice (like i did) you can get 4 for free!!
Kodak Picture Movie, $14.99 (B1G1)
B1G1 Kodak Picture Movie printable
2 FREE after coupon!
Because some of you only care to see Burke.. Here's a "vintage" picture for you :)

2 teeth!
Okay.. so I totally forgot to tell you.. Burke now has two teeth! his second one came through on Wednesday!!! :)
Ashley and Chad's Engagement Party, Brian's sick, Burke eats mexican!
This is quite the mix of posts... I'll start by saying Brian has been sick all week.. I am SO ready for him to be better!! After being wrongly diagnosed with strep, he went back to the doctor to find out he had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease... How does a 29 year old, get hand, foot and mouth?!? That's a daycare disease AND Burke doesn't go to daycare or have it!! WHAT IN THE WORLD! but needless to say, I've tried my hardest to keep him away from Burke this week, which has been very hard, b/c we had A LOT of things to do to get ready for Ashley and Chad's party!
Next comes Burke's first taste of Mexican food.. and he LOVED it.. he ate a cheese quesadilla, chicken (from my fajitas), tomatoes, shredded cheese, beans and rice... As most of you know.. we LOVE El Rods.. We used to go ALL the time.. since Saul left, we don't go very often.. I mean.. they used to know what we wanted to eat and drink without us ordering! I couldn't resist taking a picture!

I don't think he ate ANY baby food yesterday! He's a table food kid now!!
Saturday was the big Engagement Party.. Hutch, Lucia and I have been planning it for months.. Since everyone loves VT football (and Chad played!) we decided to go with a tailgate themed party after the Spring Game.. Stinks Brian was sick b/c he couldn't help me or go :( I wish I could take credit for the party.. but really Hutch did most of it.. The food was great! He has an AMAZING tailgate set up.. including a trailer with TVs, music, PA system, games, etc... and he makes GREAT food.. He should definitely own a catering business! It was great to work with Lucia and Hutch to get it all together.. I definitely couldn't have pulled it off alone.. Hutch was in charge of food (i did make rice crispie treats :) )and Lucia and I did drinks, decorations, invitations, etc.. We had a great number of people come, cute decorations :), great food, and lots of alcohol! I think everyone had a great time! and it was great to meet some of Ashley and Chad's family and friends! We can't wait for the wedding :)
the food....
i LOVE the shrimp in martini glasses..
don't worry.. there was a whole other table I didn't think to take a picture of.. ribs, chicken wings, chicken skewers, snow crabs, and MANGO salsa (yummy!!)
Burke couldn't resist getting Ashley and Chad a gift too.. it was a "stock the bar" party.. so he got "baby" sized bottles and shot glasses for them :)
The ultimate tailgate basket Lucia and I put together... The tervis tumblers are personalized with their initials.. I totally need some :)
Burke loves Ash more than anybody (maybe even me :) )
Burke and Ash dancing...
We had a GREAT saturday.. let's hope for a relaxing Sunday!!

April 16th and more....
We are getting ready for a big weekend, so I've been super busy! We are helping throw an engagement party/tailgate for Ashley and Chad this weekend, so we are crazy trying to get things done. We love them and Burke will be their ring bearer come October! Hopefully we'll have lots of pictures!
This past week has been good. Burke is perfecting his wave all the time (he is basically waving to ANYTHING.. tv, couch, you name it :) ) and has slept 2 nights in a row for 12 hours!! 12 HOURS!! I haven't felt this great in a LONG time. Too bad Brian has been sick :(
Last Friday was April 16th.. a sad time here in Blacksburg, but a GREAT day to be a Hokie! Hokie love is great everyday, but the pride and sense of community on April 16th is amazing. We participated in the 3.2 for 32... its a fun run/walk they do to bring everyone together. This year there was 6000+ people there! It was a great time and Burke got to ride in his new stroller! Here's a glimpse of the path...
Getting ready for the big race :)
Look at that kid!!
The start of the race.. they let off 32 white balloons.. followed by everyone letting go orange and marroon.
Walking past burruss...
Duck pond...
Along the route...
Just some music along the way...
THE tunnel!!! We got to walk through the tunnel and onto the field!
the finish line!! We enjoyed a nice morning walk!
The rest of the weekend was spent working, working and working..

Another week older!
Burke is another week older and wiser! This week he started waving some.. At first I wasn't sure if he knew what he was doing.. Now I think he does! Although he just sticks his arm out (no actual wave), he definitely is saying.. "see ya" :) He also said "mama" last night.. I don't think he actually knew what he was saying.. but it's getting closer!
My parents and sister came last weekend! It was so great to see them! I love spending time with them. They got here on Friday night and we hung out for a few before I had to head in to work.
Saturday we got up bright and early to head to Radford to tour. Burke and I decided to go (daddy stayed home) so we could spend LOTS of time with the family! I had never really been to RU before. I use to coach at Dedmon and been once for a conference. But thats about it... It is such a beautiful campus! I loved it! Kaitlin is heading to college next year (where did the years go?!?) and going to RU! I'm so excited to have her close :) We did some guided tours at Radford, saw a dorm room, bought some RU clothes, and ate lunch on campus. It was a nice morning. After we finished up at Radford, we spent the afternoon out shopping, etc to enjoy the time and nice weather. We headed to Olive Garden for dinner (HORRIBLE experience) then home.. It was quite a long day, but great to spend time with the family!! My parents headed out early Sunday morning. We were sad to see them go, but we'll be headed to Disney in a month!!
Other than this past weekend, this week was pretty uneventful. We worked and babysat... Played and worked some more... Tomorrow is April 16th a hard day in the VT community, so that will be a little hard. We are planning on doing the 3.2 for 32 walk/run in the morning. They have over 6000 people registered for the event! We went last year for the first one when I was pregnant and I vowed to participate every year... We even signed up Burke so he could get a shirt :) It's a great way to start out the day and be with the community and Hokie family!
Have a good weekend!

HAPPY EASTER!
Let me start by saying.. we have a clapper! Burke actually started clapping March 25th (last Thursday) but I forgot to blog about it.. We were in the store and I was playing patty cake with him and he just started clapping!!
HAPPY EASTER to everyone!! We had a great day and weekend!! Saturday was spent at two egg hunts, grocery shopping and LOTS of cleaning and organizing for our annual Easter Cookout.
Sunday morning we got up super early to make it to Easter Mass at 8am. We let Burke go through his Easter basket.. He is SPOILED rotten!! As you all know I am a total sucker for my child and spent a long time trying to find the "perfect" basket for the munchkin.. After lots of thought and looking, I decided to make my own... It has his name on the front and his foot prints on the back... I thought this would be really cool and something he would have FOREVER! My plan is to have one for each of our kids..
Ever since Brian and I started dating (8.5 years ago??!!) we have spent Easter together. Since VT doesn't get a break around Easter, we have always gotten together with our friends and had Easter dinner. It was a nice way to spend the holidays since we couldn't be with our families. Well as the years evolved, some of our friends have families but all are also an extension of our family! We love our friends and love being with them, so for the third year (and I hope many more!) we hosted the annual Williams Easter Cookout. We provide burgers, dogs and drinks and invite our friends to join us and bring a dish to share. It's a great way to spend the holidays with our friends/"family." This year we got a little bigger and even added an Easter Egg Hunt! It was great to be with everyone again! Now we are all super exhausted and ready for the weekend.. wait... tomorrow's Monday :( But my Mom and Dad (and Kaitlin too) are coming next weekend!

Burke got one Easter egg at the hunt! Please notice the awesome VT on it :) We went to the Egg Hunt on campus before the tennis match!

Burke's loot...
the back side of his basket! His first Easter.. :)
going through it all..
Burke was an angel during Mass! Sat quietly for about 15-20 minutes, then slept through the rest of Mass! We had to rush home and get to work right after mass. The club has two Easter Brunches, where the bunny comes and hosts an egg hunt. Brian brought Burke by for pictures.. Burke is scared to death of the Easter Bunny! I'm a little worried about our big trip next month now!! (pics are on a different camera and to follow)
Even though we LOVE our baby, it's so nice to know other people love him too!! Ashley got Burke an awesome Easter basket too! It was perfect.. sunglasses, a hat, yogurt puffs and regular puffs! The Vaught's got him a new bathing suit and my parents said they are bringing his loot next weekend, when they come to visit.. WOW that's one loved kid!
Burke modeling his new hat Ashley got him!
Dave and Burke eating their thumbs!
Have a good week!!
